At Abilities Group, we’re a recycling charity with a heart for people with disabilities. Our aim is to enrich their lives by offering fulfilling work opportunities for disabled people. At the same time, we’re also dedicated to protecting the environment and reducing waste. We offer comprehensive recycling services for a wide range of materials, such as electronic waste, paper, batteries, cardboard, and polystyrene. By helping to keep these materials out of landfill, we’re doing our part in working towards a cleaner, greener world. Our goal is to create a brighter future not just for individuals with disabilities, but for all members of our communities and future generations.

We help our community in two ways, the first is our promotion and commitment to Disability Employment. We currently employ over 100 disabled staff and believe that everyone in our community deserves the chance to lead a fulfilling life. Meaningful and consistent employment not only changes the lives of our employees with disability but also their families.

Our second contribution goal relates to environmental protection and recycling. We are dedicated to reducing waste and minimising environmental impact by promoting our recycling services across Auckland, wider Aotearoa and overseas. We continue to expand the recycling services we provide to public and corporate customers with the ever-growing list of items that can be recycled by us. This means less waste in landfill creating a greener future for all New Zealanders for generations to come.

We believe that reusing is better than recycling and many electronic items that are disposed of today (especially laptops) can have a second life!
